The Mazda 3 Power steering pumps require OEM Can Bus to operate, they are dependent on that, however a solution to retrofit these pumps into other vehicles has been unachievable… Until NOW!
Introducing Sinister Autoworx Mini-CAN EPS Driver for Mazda 3 Power Steering pumps.
Our Micro controller allows for the Mazda EPS Pumps to now be retrofitted into your ride.
Not only does this allow the pump to operate in a standalone configuration, but we now have total control over pump speed to allow the pump to reduce assistance at higher road speeds maintaining a more positive steering feel compared to previous options used in retrofits such as the TRW Astra Pumps.
Additionally, through use of the Mazda JTEKT Pump, we also benefit from its lower power consumption on the electrical system.
This is due to not having to run the pump at full speed all the time, this reduces electrical loads on the alternator, reducing parasitic loss and freeing up power.
